Be a part of the fun and adventure! Scouting provides an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness.
The Mt. Diablo Silverado Council serves over 14,000 youth through our Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Venturing Crews and Explorer Posts throughout Contra Costa, Solano, Lake, Napa and northern Alameda counties and provides the Scouting Program to youth ages 6 through 20. Registration is a simple process and is determined by age or school grade.

Advance Camp is a weekend event with youth all over northern califorina, 2,500 Scouts! Each Scout will have the option of 50+ merit badges to work on, including the new merit badges; chess, welding, geocaching, inveting and robotics! Younger Scouts can work on Trailhead.
This event is not only for merits badges, it's packed with special guests, special events and much much more! Adult leaders will also have training opportunities.
On 4/27/12, the on-line system is going to switch to the new format. Please not submit any tour plans after 4 p.m. on Thursday, 4/26/12, as the tour plan system will be down and the tour plans submitted after 4 p.m. will be lost and will need to be resubmitted.

We are a little over a month away from this year's Eagle Scout Recognition Dinner. This dinner takes place on May 24th, 2012.

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Eagle Scout Award, the National Eagle Scout Association and the BSA’s STEM Initiative will select one Eagle Scout to accompany Dr. Bob Ballard, the oceanographer who discovered the Titanic, to the Black Sea this summer.
Welding Merit Badge Update
• The Boy Scouts of America collaborated with the American Welding Society, BSA Health and Safety Committee, and OSHA members to create the Welding merit badge.
• Scouts can begin working on this merit badge on the earn date of 2-24-12 as the pamphlet should be in stores very soon. Check Scout Wire for more communication and video footage.
